I’m so excited to begin blogging about my journey into health and wellness! My name is Emma Bowman, I’m a 16 year old who is extremely passionate about healthy living and becoming a better you every day all with the help of God being at the center of your healthy goals. I am no nutritionist or doctor; however, I believe anyone can learn to become healthy without a degree and I'm so beyond blessed to share some things that have helped me in my health journey. I created this blog because I want to hopefully one day become a health or wellness coach. Ever since I can remember I have loved to cook and experiment with recipes and more recently, in these past few years, I've finally created my own recipes to share with you.

Health isn’t just about eating that kale salad, going on a diet, or even straining your body day after day with exercise, it’s important to know that health is also about your mindset. You can completely cut out sugar or go on a 2-hour run EVERY SINGLE day and still be a miserable person who is unhappy with your body because it’s not the world's definition of skinny. Before you even begin to change your lifestyle; whether you want to lose weight or just change some unhealthy habits, you need to take a step back and examine what you’re doing this for. You will never get anywhere in your health journey if you’re trying to impress someone else. Because truth is you will never be perfect, at least not the way the world defines perfect. But you need to look at yourself in the mirror and say "I love the way God made me just how I am, with all the scars and stretch marks, and wrinkles and lines." HE made you just the way you are, the maker of the moon and stars, HE looked and saw that the world needed you too, and that's what makes you beautifully and perfectly unique. You are chosen and treasured. The idea that you will be perfect when you lose ___ amount of weight is a lie that far too many people believe. However, there’s a difference between losing weight because you want to be a healthier weight or losing it because you completely despise your body and want to get someone's attention. My point is you will never be truly, consistently happy if your only goal is to impress someone else. You have to become a better you because YOU want to. Become healthy and be happy doing it, make it a fun, new season in your life. It can literally be that simple.

So, the goal of my blog is to help people to become happy in their own skin without completely changing themselves based on society's standards. I want you to enjoy your life without constantly worrying about calories or whether you can eat your favorite unhealthy snack ever again. There’s a balance between overachieving and doing nothing at all. I want to help you on this health journey by being happy with who God made you to be. Nobody is too far gone. Simply take action because without action there won’t be progress. You only get one life…its yours to do with it what you want, so cherish your body, fuel it with good nourishing foods, and have a mindset to achieve those healthy goals!
