A Week of Smoothies

Looking for a quick and easy breakfast that you can enjoy on the go? These are five amazing smoothie recipes that are filled with health-boosting yet delicious ingredients and are all uniquely perfect for different cravings throughout the week. Whether you enjoy smoothies for breakfast or as a snack, I'm sure one of these will suit your smoothie craving needs. Each one is specifically measured for the best result in consistency; however, my challenge to you is to add and experiment with different flavors, fruits, milks, and yes, even vegetables.
For all of these recipes, I've opted for two dairy-free milk choices: almond milk and coconut milk. This is just my preference for milk in a smoothie. I find that almond milk gives smoothies a nice texture over say... regular milk. But again this is just my preference, if you don't like almond milk or don't have it on hand in your fridge, use whatever you prefer. It won't drastically change the flavor.
Also, something else I enjoy is to add protein powder to any one of these smoothies, giving it a higher protein count especially for post-workouts.
Not all smoothies are healthy, especially store-bought or premade, so the best way to make sure yours are healthy is to make them yourself. Have fun with your flavors and experiment with new ingredients! Also did I mention they’re delicious?!

Blueberry Mango Smoothie
This bright purple smoothie has the perfect combo of fruits. Blueberries boast lots of nutrients, which helps fight fat by boosting your metabolism and efficiently burning calories. And since they're brimming with fiber, they'll help keep you satisfied.
Ingredients
1 cup frozen blueberries
1 cup frozen mango
1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt (or vanilla)
1 cup almond milk

Pina Colada Smoothie
Tastes like sipping a smoothie straight out of a coconut on the beach. This is probably my top favorite out of the five! It's so refreshing but creamy at the same time. Definitely for the coconut lovers out there! (HINT: this smoothie definitely needs the coconut milk in order to get that nice coconut flavor, so I suggest not switching out this milk.)
Ingredients
1 cup frozen pineapple
3/4 cup coconut milk
1/4 cup Greek yogurt
1 tsp. honey
2-3 tbsp. shredded coconut

Green Smoothie
This is one of the greenest smoothies I have ever made. The trick is to use yellow fruits like the banana, mango, and pineapple because it makes the green spinach really stand out. It also is the most healthy tasting out of the five so if you're not a fan of tasting veggies in your smoothie, I suggest adding in honey or peanut butter to mask the flavor a bit. But don't shy away from the green... it's in fact very delicious!
Ingredients
1 small frozen banana
1/2 cup frozen mango
1/2 cup frozen pineapple
1 cup packed spinach
1 cup almond milk

Pineapple, Peach, Orange Smoothie
When my mom tried this smoothie she said it tasted like an Orange Julius drink, without all the sugar. It tastes very refreshing and has a more Icee consistency than all the others. Again, very refreshing and tastes amazing with vanilla protein powder added in.
Ingredients
1/2 cup heaping frozen peach
1/2 cup frozen pineapple
1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt (or vanilla)
1 tsp. honey
1 cup orange juice

Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothie
This comes in at a close second for my favorite. I believe this was the first smoothie that I made on my own, and it goes to show because it doesn't even taste like a smoothie! It tastes like a milkshake and is perfect for dessert if your looking for a healthier option. I have also added chocolate protein powder instead of the cocoa powder for a good post-workout shake. Enjoy!
Ingredients
1 large frozen banana
1 cup spinach
2 tbsp. peanut butter (or nut butter of your choice)
1 tbsp. cocoa powder
1 tsp. pure maple syrup (or sweetener of your choice)
1 cup almond milk
